A Message From The Head Teacher
Welcome to the website of Castel Primary School, Guernsey. We are a two-form entry school located on the west coast of the island just inland from Vazon beach.Â
At Castel, we have ten values which drive what we are aiming to achieve. Those values are kindness, confidence, honesty, empathy, responsibility, gratitude, hard work, optimism, respect and initiative. We strive to instil these values in our pupils from the moment they start with us until the day they leave. These values feed into our ethos of ‘Always inclusive, continuously growing, aiming for excellence’.
Alongside these personal values, we work hard to teach the key knowledge and skills that our pupils will need to become successful in later life. Being a confident reader, writer and mathematician is the bedrock of our academic program. Alongside this, we deliver the Bailiwick Curriculum to build knowledge and skills in History, IT, Geography, PE, Music, Art and many other foundation subjects.Â
Our aim is that pupils leave us with excellent academic knowledge, a range of rich experiences to develop their cultural capital and values instilled in them to be upstanding members of society. A challenging aim, but one we think is worth striving for.
